Employee Spotlight: Cecelia Bender

Q: Why did you choose Brunner?

A: Brunner is a highly reputable agency in Pittsburgh – and the name recognition blows me away.

Q: Where were you born?

A: Pittsburgh, PA

Q: Do you have any siblings?

A: Most people are shocked to learn that I have eight siblings! Five brothers; three sisters. I am also the

youngest AND a twin!

Q: What hobbies did you have in high school?

A: Theater and Color Guard.

Q: Any fun projects happening at home?

A: I just purchased my first home – so I am learning all the “perils” of being a homeowner! I don’t know what “fun projects” are lurking ahead!

Q: What is one thing you’ve crossed off your bucket list?

A: If I had a list, I’d say traveling in Italy – so amazing. Can’t wait to go back.

Q: Favorite place in the world?

A: My best friend’s sofa! Talking, laughing, and just being still.

Q: How do you like your coffee?

A: Black – and lots of it. It’s like a cup of joe is attached to my hand.

Q: What is your all-time favorite band/group/ musician?

A: I love R&B. Whitney and Luther left us way too soon.

Q: Do you have an “unpopular opinion”?

A: Yes. Many. For instance, condiments aren’t necessary except BBQ sauce. And pickles are absolutely the worst! If they even touch my food, I send it back.

Q: Have you ever had a run-in with a celebrity?

A: I worked in TV for 15 years, so indeed I have. I would say being in Oprah’s presence was an extremely emotional experience for me when Discovery launched OWN. Up close and personal, I traveled to Asia with the Property Brothers for a week-long publicity tour to launch HGTV. But my all-time favorite, Mike Tyson. The encounter was priceless.
